Lab puppy housebreaking?
I have a nine week old female lab pup, she is being crate trained, she sleeps all night, but during the day she will take her naps in the crate, and as soon as she comes out i take her outside to go to the bathroom, she always does her business outside, when will she let me know that she has to go out as once in a while she has an accident,

Question about puppy housebreaking?
I'm having some problems with my puppy. She's a 5 mo. old lab mix. I know she can hold it urine for at least 4 hours, because when I put her in the bathroom to go out for that long even with a pee pad in the bathroom with her she holds it until I return to let her out. Furthermore, I know that she knows going outside is good. When I take her outside at any time as long as she hasn't peed in the previous 15 min the first thing she does when she hits the grass is pee.The problem I'm having is she doesn't seem to think peeing inside is bad, because if I don't watch her closely when she's inside, she will often pee unless she's already gone in the previous half hour or so on my rug. When I catch her doing it which is almost always I take her outside immediately and let her finish. However, I've had her for two weeks now and she still doesn't realize that going inside isn't good. I know for a fact that when she goes outside it's not because she has a full bladder. Additionally, as soon as she pees on the carpet, my gf or I immediately use an odor neutralizer on the urine while the other takes her outside so I don't believe it's because she's smelling her own urine.Does anyone have any suggestions about how to teach her that going inside is bad? DISCLAIMER Don't tell me to rub her nose in it. I don't for a second believe that works, just confuses her. DISCLAIMER This sentence " I know for a fact that when she goes outside it's not because she has a full bladder." should have read " I know for a fact that when she goes INSIDE it's not because she has a full bladder."

New puppy housebreaking pooping issues....?

I think I may have ruined my puppy housebreaking attempts by trying the puppy training pads, what should I do?
I have a 4 month old Beagle mix, and we were given some puppy training pads for free. Usually she goes outside with a few accidents so I decided to set one out just in case of an emergency she would go there instead of on my carpet. She used the pad twice, and then later in the day she went near it but not on it. Then I took the pad away, and then she went 3 more times in the next 2 hours on my carpet. This is not like her When we go outside she will just play around, chase leaves, and chew on sticks but not pee. When we return inside she will go on the floor. I am afraid the use of the pads might have confused her, could this be so? Has anyone had any similar experiences with the puppy pads?

Does anyone have any good puppy housebreaking tips?
I have a new mini dachshund puppy and I need help getting her started going outside. I know to reward her when she goes outside, but she will NOT go outside. I cant even catch her going in the house because she doesnt sniff around in circles or have any signs shes got to go. She just moves and I see a wet spot underneath where she was standing. I've tried crate training but she goes in there too. In fact she only goes doo in her crate. I ve tried staying outside with her for up to an hour sometimes, and she will not go. I was hoping someone may have a secret to training a stubborn dog. Help Also any tips on getting her to stop whining at night would be helpful too. ThanksIve been trying to do the feeding schedule thing, but she only eats a couple bites and walks away, then I ll take her out for a good half hour and nothing happens, sometimes she won't go til hours after eating., Also its funny you metioned marley and me" I just started reading that book I love it. My dog is so well behaved, except these 2 things.

Another puppy housebreaking question...?
Ok, I recently asked how to teach my pup how to go to the door whenever she needs to go outside and I have decided to use the " bell on door" technique. But, what if she hears the bell when someone comes in or someone goes out of the room all the time? Will this mess the training up??

I have a puppy housebreaking question?
i have a 9 month pom. i got him when he was 6 months. his previous owner never bothered to even attempt to house break him. so when i got him, i had to housebreak him myself. it only took about a week before he understood that he had to go potty outside. so its been about 3 months, and he has been having more and more accidents in the house. i would say about once every day. this is unnormal. i take him out the same amount of times at the same time every day but yet he still does it inside the house. why is he doing this? what can i do to fix it?also, this is the frustrating part. he has an accident and we find it couple minutes later. we never catch him in the act. after we find his mess, my parents grab him and take him to the spot, scream at him and hit him. i tell them not to do it bc 1. i refuse to hit my dog 2. bc they dont understand why they are being yelled at.... am i right in this situation?

URGENT! Please help me with puppy housebreaking question?
My puppy is about 10 weeks old. I am working on housebreaking him. I take him out through the same door to the same spot on the same path every time to eliminate. The problem is that, as soon as I set him down to do his business, he does not stay at the designated spot, runs away and begins to eliminate elsewhere after a long time of sniffing around . Having him eliminate anywhere else besides the prepared spot is not an option, but I am still working on leash training him, and he does not yet recognize his name. I am at a loss of how to get him to stay in his spot, so I can positively reinforce him when he goes. His elimination spot is a rocky area, in a yard with a grassy lawn and a garden, in which I need to teach him not to eliminate. There is no way to fence in the spot. I have already tried putting his stools in the spot, to no avail. Please help me figure out how to get him to stay long enough in the right spot to eliminate Thanks in advance for your help Thank you I was also wondering, should I positively reinforce him if he does go in the grass? It's good that he is doing his business outside and not in the house, but I don't want him to pick his own spot Any ideas?

Puppy housebreaking problems?
Okay, I have read A LOT of information about housebreaking, but I have a problem that has me stumped. I've had my boxer puppy for 9 days. I am doing everything I've read take her out often, don't play with her when I take her out, use verbal commands when I catch her about to go in the house, take her outside etc. So here's the problem. At least once a day sometimes more , I take her out to pee and she doesn't. Sometimes I catch her in the act, take her out, and she doesn't finish. Sometimes we stay out for 5 minutes, sometimes for an hour. Then we go back in the house, and she pees. The weird thing is, when she does this, she doesn't give any warning, no sniffing or circling, she just squats and pees. The worst of it is, last night, after being outside for AN HOUR, we came back in and I was watching her really closely because I KNEW what was going to happen. Nothing. Then the phone rings, and when I go to answer it BOOOM What do I do with this? I'm at wits end

Puppy housebreaking questions?
My puppy is 10 weeks old. Crate trained. Now during the day if we leave the door open we have a great day. No accidents. He has his special place in the grass he goes to every time. The problems. If the door is closed he wont attempt to scratch bark etc.. He just find any place on our carpet and uses it there. There is no certain spot on the carpet that I can hide him from, its a first come first pee thing. Second. Night time. Not when everyone is asleep, but after the sun goes down. He wont go outside. Now in my backyard I have enough lights to light up a runway, so it cant be cause of bad no lights. Any help is appriciated, Garrett, at night he is in his crate, but Im talking about after his nightly feeding around 730 or so, the sun is down and he wont go outside. But thanks for the bell idea, I will give it a try. mataka Urinating and stuff in the house is cleaned up immediate. with enzyme cleaner. The dog is a certified English Bulldog without his rabies shots yet, Im not going to LEAVE him outside. kaper. I attend to him outside. We go together usually, unless of course its in the day and he bolts for outside like he is suppose to do. When he is inside, he is monitored closely. The problem is, he is quick at peeing. He is constantly sniffing, so we cant go by that, and the second I see him squat we take a trip outside. This isn't my first rodeo with pups and housebreaking, but each dog is different in some ways. I got the basics covered.
