Why is my ferret biting harder than normal?
Me & My fiance have a baby ferret 4 6 months old , We play with her with our hands cuz we can handle the biting. Lately she's been biting harder than normal. And becoming very possessive. My fiance was letting her play with a pencil Watching her so she didnt get hurt , and when I tried to take it away, she bit me really hard, harder than normal. And just a minute ago she was playing with his belt he left on the floor, I went to grab her to move her away and she bit me and hissed at me... We got her a petco, and she's been descented & spayed... any idea whats going on??

Help with ferret biting and locking on.?
Hi, we have just bought a 5 month old female ferret. She has been well loved from birth. Been well helded and brought up with other ferrets. She was great when we went to she her, excellent with our 12 yr old daughter all the way home, and cuddled in with my husband. We took her out to the beach and allowed her a good run for about an hour in the sand. She seemed to love it. She was very well behaved and enjoyed the freedom. She cuddled in all the way home and again, was very well behaved and loving. my husband placed her back in the cage when we got home and this is where the trouble started. She has done nothing but bite and lock on, biting his hand, knuckles and fingers until drawing blood. We have done as everyone has guided. Telling her no in a stern voice without screaming and holding her by her scruff until she submits and yawns. We then give her praise and put her in her cage until she does it again. We have also reassured her and treat treating her to show we she has been good. He has even been scruffing her accross the floor until she submits. She has made quite a mess of his hands and I feel guilty. He loves them and I would love for him to have the pet he has been looking for. I know that ferrets can be wonderful and really quite affectionate. She is making a mess of his hands and his knuckle is swollen where she bit and locked on and refused to let go. I know it is early days and we refuse to give up, we are in it for the long haul. Does anyone have any tips? We will be getting her neutered as soon as she is ready as she will not be bred and I wouldn't want her to die through prolonged heat. Will this help? Please help, she is ever so cute and makes you want to cuddle her.
Why is my female ferret biting my friends male ferrets neck?
So my friend is from out of town and she came with her ferret. They have met before and they got along. My ferret follows him everywhere and he will hiss at her, after awhile she will just attack him. We would hear him squeak and we go over there and she is holding on to his neck or shes fighting with him. They are both fixed, and she is always the one biting.

How To Stop My Ferrets Biting?
I got two ferrets last week, a seven week old girl and an eleven week old boy and they bite a lot but when they're playing.I know I have to try to train them not to bite but I don't want to stop them when all they're doing is playing as it doesn't hurt... plus I don't want to kinda punish them for playing... if you know what I mean. It probably all sounds stupid, I'm just not too sure what to do with them right now so any advice would be appreciated

Ferret Biting cage, Solution?
Hello, I have a 3month old ferret, Very crazy and very hyper and when he bites very PAINFUL lol, but anyone I have a big 4 story cage with slides hammock, tubes, all that fun stuff ferrets like, Here is my question, I had Wolvie out of the cage ALOT today, playing with him and such, several hours, but when its times for bed, I put him in his cage, BUT he wants more, much more, so he bites the cage until, its seems as though he is whilling to loose all his teeth, what should I do about this? Also, he bites hard so when handling him I wear Firfighting gloves so i cant feel his bites, but say NO when I can tell he is really digging in, is that a acceptable method to teach him no? Thanks

My ferrets bite their cage bars constantly and have broken their teeth?
I have two ferrets. They get out a LOT. We have a big screened in porch that they play on for about ten or eleven hours a day. However, as soon as I bring them in for the night, they go haywire and start biting the bars of their cage. I ignore them, and always have, but they go on for hours all night, and it keeps me up they can't sleep anywhere else in the house, and I don't like to use devices that deafen noise because we live in a shoddy neighborhood and I would worry that something might happen that I wouldn't hear . One of them has broken at least four of his teeth down to nubs he is okay , but still goes at it. They do it for five or six hours straight and only give up when they're tired enough to sleep. They don't seem to care if I put stuff on the bars that tastes nasty. What can I do to stop this?Don't even suggest I give them away. I love them and that isn't an option. The problem is that I have fibromyalgia, and I need to sleep through the whole night or I'm more stiff sore than usual. I haven't slept well in the past week because they've really amped up their bar biting, and I'm feeling it Why the hell would I let them go " if I love them" ? I'd die for my animals, let alone lose sleep.I've tried adding treats that keeps them occupied for a couple of hours, then they're back to the bars again. They have been to the vet, yes. One has cancer but he is not the one who bites so much he's broken teeth. The one that bites the bars the most is very healthy. The porch is very secure they've never even tried to escape. Putting the cage out there at night is a good idea the problem is that some mornings here are very hot they usually go out in the late afternoon until late at night, when I go to bed , and I wouldn't want to risk cooking them. It'll work in the fall, though, so thanks for the idea. The cage is huge it's a giant multi level.I think they just want to be with me even when they're on the porch, they go crazy trying to get through the door to get to us. Then, when I let them in to play with them, they do everything they can to get out again. It's like they have to have the opposite of whatever it is they have at the moment
