How do i litter train 2, brand new, baby ferrets.?
yesterday, i got two baby 2 month old ferrets. they were from a shelter. they didnt stay long enough to be litter trained, so i have to. usually as i read they choose one corner where they go... but they didnt. they used one place, more than others, so i put the box there, and nothing. im putting their potty in there, so they know. i moved the food and water the other places where they go, so they wont " go bathroom in the kitchen" but... nothing works. they choose corners to go into, so i may be able to use that to my advantage. i have a boy shroeder from the peanuts, and a girl lucy from the peanuts. lucy doesnt like treats, no raison flavored, or chicken, or ferretone or anything just food. i might just try using plain food. hmmmmmm anyway, i was just wondering what i can do? ? they're VERY smart, they already learned how their cage works except little lucy insists on using the ramps, JUST for going up, and instead likes JUMPING down whenever they start to " go" i pick them up and hover them above the litter box. any suggestions? ill use every serious answer, and try it, whichever one works best, will get best answer.omG okay, so shroeder kept trying to go in one corner, and i kept picking him up and plopping him down again in the box, and he was just insisting on going where he wanted to go XD. so finally i moved the box, and he did it all on his own and then lucy came, and tryed to go in the corner i was originally shroeder in, and i picked her up and put her in the litter box. she sniffed it, then just went thank you soooooooo much for your help haha

Any gentle, preferably natural, cheap cleaners, that are safe for ferrets, and get rid of BIG smells?
i have 2 ferrets, that havn't quite gotten the potty training thing down just yet. these are my first ferrets, so i can spoil them. i know younger ferrets tend to stink more. i have used some products cage deodorizing wipes, bi odor gel in their water i bathe them once a month, so that their oil glands dont produce any more stank keep their litter box 90 % clean so they know that the litter box is a potty place, not a place to dig in so basically my question is, if you guys recommend any cleaners im only using fabreze right now to gently remove any poopies, and get rid of smell, easy to use, and okay around animals. also, any home remedies for stink> and any other ferret products that WORK to help reduce stink. thank you SO much for your help i HAVE raed ferrets for dummies. that answer caught me off guard as a little rude...

Ferret biting velcro?
I noticed my ferret is biting the soft part of velcro constantly whenever he gets a hold of it. Is it normal for ferrets to have a strange biting fascination for a specific thing? He used to bite my hands a lot but he stopped and now he's just biting velcro.

Why are my Ferrets so different?
Hey,my ferrets Bella and Bailey turned 1 just in February. They're really different from other ferrets i've heard about, they sleep alot yea,but they are not sound sleepers at all, this dead sleep does not happen with them and it never has since they were kits. They get out twice a day for about 1 1 2 hour 2 hours. They're very great pets no serious nipping,go to there litter box, with a few accidents every now and then. They love to explore. We got them at the same pet store with like a 1 week difference,we got bella first, she's more cuddly, bailey is more mischievous. We thought they were sisters but bailey looks like a silver mitt and bella looks like a creamy blonde with ruby red eyes. And when they are outside of their cage they dont sleep at all.So the real question is why are my ferrets so different from others?

My 3 month old ferret is showing some hair loss. Need to worry?
I got a two ferrets a few weeks ago. My small female had a white patch on her side where she had no guard hairs. After we brought her home the guards seemed to be growing in, but now the spot seems to be thinning and spreading. We are in the process of trying to change their diet, and treating for fleas. One of my family members was kind enough to give us the fleas. Could the diet change and the flea shampoo be causing this? My male is the same age, and is completely healthy with a nice full coat. They both play well, and eat well too. They will be going to the vet soon for shots, but I don't want to give them some crazy meds for something they may not have. I have heard about a vet giving a ferret medication for mites when she actually had adrenal. I don't think my 3 month old fuzzy has this. Or is it possible for a fuzzy so young to develope this? Should I be really worried about this?

Any ways to deodorize ferret stench?
i have 2, baby ferrets. both descented. i put descenting stuff in their water, but it should take a while to kick in. i only give them baths once a month, and they have each had their baths. i brush their teeth, and give them hard food to help with tartar. i brush their fur daily, and i use special cage deodorizing wipes. i spray with fabreze whenever i start to smell the odor. its not strong, but my mother says she can smell it on me after i play with them. any home remedies? any products you reccomend? anything at all? i clean the litter box often too, and i have special deodorizing litter, non clumping, perfectly healthy for ferrets if they chose to eat it, no blockages or anything, calm down

HELP! Urgent ferret issue!?
Around 6 days ago now, Isis' buddy Cookie died of an intestinal tumor. We've been talking to an expert on All Experts.com who had a dying situation as well. She said it was much less stress for her to get a buddy sooner. So, we waited 5 days until we all felt better... We got a little guy, about 2 and a half months old. It went wonderful she started, nor he started no fights at all, and the cage territory isn't being marked as only ones area. Isis was before eating, drinking, playing, and sleeping fine, along with going . But I'm upset because she's slept almost the entire time since the baby came... almost the entire time. I know ferrets sleep a lot, although I just lost a ferret I know for a fact I AM going to be horribly paranoid. I have 31 kids all different types of course in total, but I care about each and every one. Anyhow, the baby currently has his own bowl of " mush" , Marshall ferret food moistened his own bed area downstairs, 2 litter pans, they fought for corners before , and the only thing they should be sharing is the water bottle downstairs. Isis has her kitten chow food, dry, and the big hammock. She would need to go downstairs for the water and to go . Anyway, my final question. Sorry for the rambling, I like to give EXTRA detail. Is all the sleeping Isis is doing NORMAL? She was very attached to Cookie, although she's taken everything quite well. Someone that has had this type of experience would be best for this question. I don't really want someone who has never even owned ferrets or had them pass away before answer this. Thank you.

Possible ferret problem!!!?
HelloI have four ferrets the two boys are five, my oldest girl is four, and my youngest girl is three. The ferret with the problem is Cassius one of my boys. Lately all he wants to do is crew is rubber ferrets easily. But now when hes crewing this squeaky and one of his sisters or his brother comes by he will almost out right attack them making a loud screaming noise. I was even afraid to touch him and I have never been afraid to do anything with any of my ferrets. When I took the toy away all he does his run around the room hissing looking for it, he will not play with the others, but he doesn't attack them either. Could something be wrong or am I worrying for nothing? Please any info is welcomed.editing error it's a rubber sqeaky. and Cassious is deaf and gets upset easily upset but never this much.
