Odds of housebreaking dog who is only used to "doggy door"?
I am 1st time fostering to adopt and have had dog only 2 days. She does not go to the door or ask to go out. She is only used to a doggy door. What can I do?

My housebroken dog is starting to pee in the house again after 2 years. What to do?
I've been having this 2 year old miniature schnauzer since it was 8 weeks old and it was housebroken easily. Last year we adopted my friend's 6 year old yorkie because they were expecting a baby. These 2 dogs don't really get along. The yorkie is trained to go to the litter box with a weewee pad on it and we place it in the bathroom. After having the yorkie for 8 months, my mini schnauzer starts to pee in the house again. Is there something I can do to stop him from peeing in the house? Will getting rid the yorkie do it? Because we're thinking about giving the yorkie to my friend. My 2 dogs don't get along anyway.I don't think he has UTI because he seems to pee on the same spot 2 spots everytime. However I'll still take it to the vet as a precaution. Anyway is there still a way to make it work without giving up the yorkie?

Will I confuse my housebroken dog by training him to use a "Mini Wee"?
A " Mini Wee" is a synthetic grass mat where dogs can pee indoors.I would like to train him to use one for the long days that he'll be home...versus placing him in doggie day care.Anyone have any expereince with " Mini Wees" ?Will this confuse him and some how make him revert back to having accidents in the house or make him not want to use the bathroom outside?

Housebroken Dog? Tips please!?
Hi, I've got a 9 month old adolescent shepard collie mix. She is 100 % crate trained which is great BUT, this semester I've decided to go back to school and work, while my fiance is working full time. We do not want her crated all day, and we know that would be terrible for her. I want to housebreak her so that we can leave her out and not come home to a mess each day...we don't have a yard yet but we're planning on getting a house as soon as our lease is up on this apartment. The yard will be a good option later this year we live in SC, the coldest in the day it gets here is about 50 degrees F but for now I'm looking for tips on housebreaking her without a crate. TIA We crate trained her, which is a form of housebreaking from what my Vet. told us.She is NOT part GSD. She is a 35lb mix bred. We think she may have some Aussie Shepard in her. She is 9 mos. old so she is about as big as she will get. Don't be so rude and judgmental. Many people have HAPPY GOOD DOGS that live in apartments. We walk her often, and she tons of love and attention. Alot of people in my apartment complex have BIG dogs. Big meaning Great Dane. Labrador. GSD. BIG dogs.

My housebroken dog has started using the house as a toilet!?
Ok. I'm at my wits end here. I adopted a 5 year old dog from a shelter about 6 months ago, and he wasn't housebroken. So we went through all the training, and he was doing really well.He knows that when I'm home, he is not allowed to go in the house, and he tells me when he needs to go out by sitting by the door.Due to financial difficulties, we had to move out of my apartment, and unfortunately, back in with my mom, where there was another dog there already.I crate trained him at the apartment, and never had escape problems, but now that we live with another dog, he has learned to escape from his crate without breaking it we now call him Houdini, because we can't figure out how he does it and he makes a mess all over the house.I never had this problem at my apartment, and we've been settled into this house for a month already. When my mom and I are home, he lets us know when he has to go, and won't go in the house when we are around.I can't stay home with him all the time, and everytime we leave and there's no one home, he escapes and pees or poops wherever he feels. I tried tying him into the crate, but he just chews through the rope. We don't crate the other dog because she's been housebroken for years, and we don't want to resort to buying a crate for her since we no longer have hers.I'm tired of cleaning up the house every time I come home, and my mom is threatening me telling me I have to get rid of my dog if I can't figure out a way to make him stop. What do I do? I walk both dogs twice a day, and we have frequent dog park outings. They are very well exercised. And I haven't changed foods. He eats the same food Orijen adult that he did at my apartment. No diarrhea either.Manda he always goes in the same spot, either in front or on the back door.I've tried the enzyme cleaners, he still goes in the same spot Also, we've worked extensively on pack order. They always eat after us humans, they go through doorways after us, neither dogs walk ahead of us on walks. They get along so well that if you take one out of the house for a walk and leave the other behind, the one that got left behind lays around moping until the other gets back. They're inseperable

Help housebreaking dogs please?
my dogs are mostly housebroken but 2 of them are having a little dominance fight and marking their teritory in one of the rooms. what is the best way to stop this? is there some kind of spry that will get rid of the smell so they dont keep going in the same spots or that will make them want to stay away from their? and that also doesnt smell so bad that we dont want to go in there either? any ideas will help please they are both males and they are both fixed and have been for a while. one of them is new however, ive had him for 3 days. i never catch them in the act cause they do it when im out, i refuse to leave them outside when im not home, or they wait for me to get distracted cooking or something and they sneak into that room.

Why would housebroken dog pee on couch ? new home?
my mom in law got a 2 year old poodle today.the previous owners said he was 100 % housebroken.well he urinated outside 3 times, then she took him in her home for the first time...he ran right to her leather sofa and peed he is a male but shouldnt a housebroke dog have control?also he hates crates when put in that he howls he is 100 % poodle about 12 pounds.should all food and water be taken up by 5pm?i know dogs mark territory...but he was guaranteed hosebroke any thoughts?

Help! My housebroken dog have just pooped on my rug! How do I discipline for this?
We recently adopted two adult male Shih tzus who are 4 and 7 years old. They came from the same home and are father and son. Both dogs are crate trained and housebroken, so I was astonished to find that one of them had left a " present" near my fireplace. Both my daughters were in the room when it happened but we do not know which dog did the deed. How should I proceed with this? I want to make sure that it won't happen again. HELP To DL They were just taken outside an hour prior to the incident and then twice during the morning hours. We take very good care of our dogs. You don't know me so don't assume you know anything I will chalk this up as an adjustment to new surroundings and proceed with my day as normal. Thank you for all the " good" advice that MOST have provided. 0
