Any vets out there? Please help! My dog got attacked and this is our situation! Need another vets help fast.?
Okay, we were down the shore on Saturday, and we were taking our dog she is a 5 year old Cocker Spaniel Lab Beagle mix for a walk and when we rounded a corner all of a sudden we heard a man scream 'WATCH YOUR DOG" from across the street and a Great Pyranese who is much bigger than my dog attacked her. The dog wasn't on a leash and ran across the street to do attack mine. We went home and she wasn't shaking, nothing. She did have spit on her so we checked for abrasions and cuts but we didn't see any. We went out to the Wildwood boardwalk and came in around 2am to pet our dog and she whimpered. She has a abscess spelling? on her left shoulder and scratches that's what the vet told us. The people didn't come over to check make sure everything was ok, nothing. So before we left we walked over to the house to get their information and find out that they left. They were staying with their parents. They said they got their dog it's shots and all, and we got their number. Mind you, my dog is so upbeat, barks at everything, and likes to play and drink and eat and cuddle. Ever since then she has been calm, hasn't been eating or drinking and just looks sad. I took her to the vet this morning as an emergency visit because she's just not herself. We told them the situation and they told us to file a complaint with the Police of New Jersey where the incident happened and send the bill to the people. The vet shaved her shoulder and gave her a shot. They told us it was an abscess and told us to warm compress it three times a day. We have an antibiotic for her which she takes twice a day for 7 days, and animal painkillers. The family responsible are claiming their dog never bit ours, and they only were worried about my sister who was far from the fight, I was in the middle of it trying to pull them away and are completely not cooperating, which forced us to have to go and take it to the officials because the vet bill is high and they 100 % are responsible in paying it well reimbursing us, we paid for it .Anyways, now, she is just laying down, has a high fever, and is breathing heavily. She isn't eating drinking unless we kinda force it. She is resting now, and thats where your help comes in. What can we do to help her? Help the fever, etc... The vet gave her the antibiotics and we gave her the one painkiller. She wasnt eating her dog food so I cut up people food a hotdog, cut is mini pieces and took the skin off and she took it slowly. I put the drink next to her but she wouldnt drink. So I put her a tiny cup up to her snout and she took a few laps of water. She is not herself and its really heartbreaking. She is breathing heavily on and off. Please help us, thank you so much It is not huge, but its the size of like dime.I'm sorry, I mean its just not badly enflamed its kind of flat, just open sore. They told us to warm compress sit so the stuff can come out.Thank you for all the answers, we are taking her to the Animal Hospital
My dog is acting out at my baby girl. what to do?
We just got a new kitten about 2 weeks ago. since this weekend our St Bernard 5 years old has been acting out at my 16 month old baby girl.for example. when our daughter would run after the kitten Ruben the dog would jump up and run after her and bite at her. i stopped him every time before he could nip her. he has done it several times. i thought he was just guarding the kitten or even the bag of his food that was nearby....but when she gets close to him, he barks or bites at her. not every time..but he has been doing it alot since this weekend sometimes when she is just walking around he will jump up and run after her. if she walks by him.... he growls and nips...i have scolded him and slapped his butt ..but he keeps doing it.i thought maybe he was jealous that she and the kitten were getting more attention than him...but i have been trying to give him more attention...petting cuddling...but he keeps doing it.Please help me give me advice on what to do. i dont want him to hurt her uhave2 she is 16 months old she is not torturing my animals you retard she likes the kitten and follows him around. since when is being interested in an animal torturing them? you are stupid. you want to know how she plays with our dog? she FEEDS HIM. if i give her something to eat she always brings some of it to him. oh yeah..that sounds MISERABLY TORTUROUS to me. shut up.he is neutered and he has never behaved like this before except when we lived with other dogs and cat...but this behavior was at the other animals...and not peoplei mean...when he DID behave like this before...he ddidnt do this very often when we were living with other animals. only when the cats or dogs would fightthank you linda and lila...your posts are very helpful. iamUR Did you not read my response to have2? i didnt TEACH my daughter to chase the kitten she likes him so she follows him around. when she is sitting with him she pets him sweetly and gives him kisses. and we are in the process of teaching her not to grab to hard and to be gentle. seriously you people must not have children so dont even try to give advice when you dont understand the situation
What could be wrong with my dog's eye?
My 6 year old jack russell has two very small what looks like skin tags around his right eye. One of them is slightly to the side of the eye and has been there for around a year, and has seemed to give him no trouble. Recently I noticed another one similar about 1cm below the same eye, still no real bother for him and certaily no pain but he seems a little irratable, scratching it as if it could be annoying him. They are very small and black in colour. He is in good health and very active. I'm just a little concerned. Do you think this could be serious?
Concerns about rimadyl for my dog?
My Bulldog is 8 years old. We just found out that he has a tear in his cruciate ligament. The doctor precribed rimadyl half 100mg tablet, twice a day . I'm terrified of this medication. Since this occured, I have been giving him a 325mg buffered aspirin in the morning, and it seems to help. He has arthritis in his front shoulders as well. I have given him aspirin for probably the last 3 years, and he's done fine on it. Should I try the rimadyl, or stick with the aspirin? I'm very confused.
My dog bites EVERYTHING, its a german shepherd what can i do about this?
When is a dog too old to start agility?
I was watching agility trials and thought it would be great for my Boxer. I was just reading the site and looking at scoring and rules but didn't see anything about age? I know what I was watching did have what looked to be older dogs also so I'm not sure if there is an age range required?
Constipation in dogs?

How can I stop my dog from obsessing about our other dog?
I have a 4 year old dutch shepherd who is a VERY energetic pup. We also own a 2 year old labradoodle who is a playful dog herself. At 86lbs, the Dutchie is double the size of the 40 lb. floppy doodle. They like to play and wrestle, but the dutchie is getting more and more aggressive. The result is the majority of them " playing" is the labradoodle finding a chair to hide under or a person to run to. The dutchie just growls and spins holding whatever toy she has in her mouth taunting the doodle. At dog park things get worse as the dutchie pounces on, knocks down, runs over, etc. the smaller doodle. If she doesn't have a toy in her mouth she bites the doodle's neck and it's really embarassing. It's like she's OBSESSED with the much more socially diverse doodle. She won't leave her alone to play with other dogs. We've tried taking the dutchie to dog park alone and she's unsure aggressive toward the other dogs. she hasn't hurt any drawn blood , but she snaps and chases them away form the water her frisbee. It's really embarassing. Is this a dominance issue? has anyone else had this problem? Any advice would be greatly appriciated.Thank you
Advice on dog training?
Now, those of you who have read my questions and or know the details of my dog know that this would never ever work with her. LOL But I am curious How do you train a dog NOT to take food from anyone? Just from 'approved' people. I am thinking of this as a preventative measure for the dog's safety so no one could feed the dog anything bad for it or possibly poisonous.Any links or suggestions? Like I said, the damage is done with my glutton there's no stopping her now...Thanks
How can I tell if my dogs have dominant or submissive personalities?
Here are my dogs personas Amber cockerpoo mix 8 years FEMALE Always greets me happily, is comfortable sitting on my lap. Always tries to sneak into the house by opening a door and inching in, she also opens the door to my room and sleeps in my bed with me. She comes when i call when off leash except when she is sniffing or sees another dog, however if she sees me walk or run away she will follow. She constantly whines to come in, she does not tolerate any dog trying to hump her or play with her. Aggressive to dogs.Kodiak Shiba Inu mix 4 months MALE always brings toys back to me, always jumps on my other dog when i try to pet her, always trying to hump other dogs. He is very stubborn and follows my other dog but always gets put in check by her. No matter how many times she has corrected him he always comes back to bother her. He responds more to calls than she does though. Very friendly to children and dogs as well.

My dog has turned into a big fat biznatch after his balls got deflated?
Well my dog got neutered a few months ago, and he's turned into a a$s. I thought it was supposed to make them more sweet friendly or whatever to get his balls deflated cut off. He's started being snappy towards other dogs and people, how do I train him out of this? He's never been snappy before. Have you ever met a dog that has turned more aggressive because of being neutered? Did it where off? If so, how long did it take?He has never acked like this before. The week he got home from the vet his attittude changed. Just looking for tips to give to my mom to help train him out of this. I CANNOT train him as I only see him every other week to once a month, so don't flip out of me for it.Saying " lack on training" over and over and over agin won't help me tell my mom what your supposed to do.Oh yeah my mom's really gonna give away her dog.. The dog section sucks with giving advice. xPI wasn't asking why, I was asking how to stop it, dumb a$s. This is not exactly MY dog, it's my MOM's, I only go over there every other week to once a month, so fruck off if your not going to be helpful.
