Do you know an easily digested dog food?
A friend has a minpin with a Kidney disorder. She needs to feed a food that is easily digested. She can not do raw, as she travels alot. Does anyone know of a food that may be good? I did not get an exact problem with the dog. She has spent thousands in the states and the vets here could not tell her what was wrong. On a recent trip to Brazil, she learned it was a kidney problem, that is treatable with diet. I have a call into a canine nutritionist friend of mine already, but was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions to look into. ThanksThe food the vet reccomended is only available in Brazil. We need to find something available here. The Brazilian vet only told her to find something easily digestable.I was thinking maybe k d.Sorry, we both live in New England New York.

Help with choosing new dog food?
I have four dogs, a Chow Australian Shepard mix, a Shih Tzu Poodle mix, a Chihuahua and a Boston Terrier. They are all indoor dogs and all of them are between 1 year and 3 years we think we have rescued all of them . My problem is I want a food that is flexible for all the dogs. I don't want to have to buy different foods for each dog. I also want something healthy, no junk like corn, wheat, animal poultry, lamb, turkey, etc by products, BHA BHT or anything artificial.Thank you in advance Thank you for all the feedback I'm more concerned about the kibble size being flexible for a 5lb dog and a 25lb dog.

What is the best brand of dog food you can possibly get at a supermarket?

I want to change my dogs food from chicken and white rice to kangaroo and brown rice is this a good idea?
Is this more nutritious and is it an okay meat to feed my dog, I know that my local pet shop sells it and I bought a small amount 250 g for my dogs to try and they liked it but I'm not going to give them a meat that isn't good for them. Also I want to change the bones in their diet from lamb shanks and uncooked chicken necks to kangaroo tails, is this okay? Just to clarify this isn't the only food that they get they also get a small amount of organic oat barley mix, shredded carrots, pet vitamin powder with their meals .This is the mix that they get. bowhouse.com.au p 591555 vets all natural premium choice complete mix 15kg.htmlThey are both Jack Russell's one is 5 months the other is four.I live in Australia, kangaroo's are KIND OF a native pest during the summer they over populate .My vet said it was good, and what research I've done said it was higher in protein and lower in fat then most meats but I was after other peoples opinions. Why would you call kangaroo meat cruelty? Yes killing animals for food is cruel but kangaroos are treated better then cows, chickens, fish, turkey, pigs basically any other animal. They aren't " farmed" they are just given wide paddocks to roam and eat s they like then killed quickly.Go look at how a cow is treated then call me cruel.BTW if I thought my dogs could live on a diet without animal product AND be healthy, I would. But they can't.Thanks rmbrruffian I am a vegan because I know what happens to those animals, I'm just not wiling to risk my dogs health for MY morals.
My dog is throwing up her food and burying it in the back yard?!?
We have three siberian huskies, two of which are VERY fat We are working on that.. , the other dog, sadie, is normal size. Well we recently caught her running around the back of the waterfall to throw up all of her food There is actually a good sized mound out there of her attempt to bury it. I dont know what she's throwing all of her food up though We have had sick dogs before and we can tell if there's a stomach upset or something. She's acting completely normal still plays and wants you to scratch her ears all of the time. No difference at all.Can anyone think of why she's doing this? It's obviously been going on for awhile since the pile is kind of big..Well, I think that may be part of the problem.. we have on of those things where you fill it with food and when they eat whats in the bowl more comes out.. So I think thats why they're getting so fat.. the alpha is the fattest. But the thing is, I dont see her eating often. She is always guarding the food, but never eating it.
