Does anyone know how to get rid of dog fleas? I have tried everything.?

I found some flea powder for dogs tucked away in a cabinet and my cat would seem to be suffering needlessly if it is safe to use it on him. Of course I could go buy something specifically for cats, but why spend the extra money if it isn't necessary?

I decided to get another dog in my house to keep my other dog company. I've never had a flea problem with my other dog, ever. My adopted dog now has fleas, but my other one doesn't. I ordered flea medication for my other dog last week and it should be coming in tomorrow. I found the fleas on my dog the other day and instead of spending more money on another box of Frontline, I bought a cheap kind. I know, I know shame on me. I'm sorry I became desperate. Since the box of Frontline is coming in tomorrow, can I wash off the old medication and put Frontline after? If I can't do it tomorrow, how long should I wait? Thanks.I read somewhere that you can wash as much of it off as you can to try and get rid of the medication left on the dog. But I do get the point of it being absorbed into the bloodstream. So what should I do? The cheap flea meds aren't working should've known better . I've given him a bath and I've been vacuming disinfecting this whole house. I just want to cuddle my dogs without worry

I live in the UK and nowhere near me sells cat flea shampoo my cats love baths and before you say no cat likes water search for turkish vans . since we got them we've used flea treatment once a month, so i don't know how they've got them spot on flea treatment I did it 3 4 days a go and since then i've noticed loads of fleas on them, they don't go outside and i've been treating cats and dogs for 14 years without this happening. Anyway, i know some dog flea shampoo's can be very toxic to cats, will it say so on the bottle? All i'm doing at the moment is using a human nit comb and combing them everyday, which is hard work with 4 cats, it's giving them a bit of relief so they're not pulling their fur out but they're , eric especially, very very fluffy, making it a VERY hard job to keep on top off. what can i do for them? i feel so sorry for them, which is hard when i'm being bitto buggery, and WHY have they got them AFTER treatment?spot on is better than frontline We've used it my mum etc since i was a little girl, it kills fleas on and around the cat and prevents them. I used it at the nape of their necks and base of the tail like you should . On top of that frontline sets off my eczema really badly. so what you are all saying is there's NOTHING i can get without going online? thats bloody ridiculous

My kitten is four months old and I put some over the counter flea medication for dogs on him. My mom gave me the medicine. Later my boyfriend and I found the cat laying on the bed shaking. We brought him to an emergency vet but they said they couldn't do anything without payment and I don't have any money. They said his temperature is steadily rising and without treatment he won't last very long, and he's dehydrated. His organ systems are shutting down...Is there ANYTHING I can do at home to help him??
