I have a 20 month old GSD and from day 1 he was 12 weeks old when we got him he has always barked and whined at other dogs this is worse when he is on the lead.I have taken him to training which has not been cheap and this has still not been resolved being told that its excitement and anxiety not agression when he is off lead with other dogs he is fine and will play happily, he is very well trained but as soon as he sees another dog it's like he forgets everything and just goes mental I have used distraction techniques, walking the other way, correction on the lead, sitting him still everything I can think of has anyone got any advice or tips?what are peoples advice on a bark collar not one that shocks him but one that lets off a scent?no wonder so many dogs are in rescue all over the world with advice like " the dog will have to leave" because he has one problem, thank god there are proper pet owners out there that realise not all animals are perfect and instead of giving up on them and either abandoning them or putting them into rescue choose to work with them Whether this issue gets resolved or not my dog won't be going anywhere
What kind of lawyer can help in a dog barking case against neighbors?
my neighbors have 6 dogs, 4 outside and 3 of those are fenced in or chained 24 hours a day and only 25 feet from my bedroom. All other neighbors are at least 100 feet from the never ending dog barks.I know my animal shelter and police said, that at some point, you have to take your evidence before a judge. What kind of lawyer could help me?Seen different electronic devices. I plan to buy 1. There are city ordinances & animal control enforces it by sending owners a letter. After that, I'd have 2 provide proof with tape recorder, call police & they can issue citations of $250, after that I'd have 2 go B4 a judge. I was told in dog forum not to let neighbors know dogs bothering me, or it could get worse. They got 1 dog on back of house chained 24 7. One on the side of house chained 24 7. Two more in a 6x6 fence near my house, in prison 24 7. If YOU & ME were in a cage for our entire life, we'd bark too. Too many dogs here. When 1 barks they all bark. They also have 2 indoor dogs they let out, & they cause the others 2 bark. I called humane society & they said as long as they have roof, water & food, they can have 10 dogs. No city rules on dogs. Sad this couple have no kids. Have 4 dogs chained fenced for life & just give water food. What kind of pets are these? Why do the people want these 4 dogs?no they do not bark 24 7.They are caged and chained 24 7 which contributes to the barking as well as there being 4 of them. Kids at least go inside at night to sleep and to school. The house next to the dogs, there are 5 6 kids on their trampoline each day. I'm sure they are not in the same household. A dog forum said if a person is subjected to the same things over and over, for indefinite periods of time, it slowly becomes torture. Would you want to hear loud music every hour for 16 hours a day? cold water thrown on you two hours a day for ever? At some point you will develop health issues.I've lived here 10 days and had 4 good nights of sleep. They bark on and off, all day long and into the night, multiple barkings per hour. Some cities require you to have a neighbor complain too. Since the rest have lived here so long and they are well over 100 ft from the dogs I'm only 25 ft away bedroom window , no neighbors will back me up.It's me & electronic devices that might work
Why would a crow sit on my fence and not fly away, even with the dog barking and people walking by?
Today I looked out my window and saw a large crow sitting on my gate looking in toward the yard. My dogs noticed and ran out and started barking. The gate is only 3 feet tall, so it was well within the dogs' range to attack, but it just stood there looking at the dogs. People walked by on the sidewalk, and damn near brushed against it, and it would not fly away. Finally, some kids came by and started messing with it, so it flew away after that. It stayed on the gate for about 15 minutes though, with people walking by and the dogs barking at it. Has anybody seen this happen before? It's almost like the crow had no fear? Is this some type of bird flue symptom?What do you think could of been the case?
How do i stop my dog barking when im out?
My dog barks when i go out, i think the reason is due to him been left at home and been apart from me, he usually goes everywhere with me and even used to go to work with me so hes used to been around me all the time, my problem is i start a new job next week and have to leave early so he will have to stay at home, my neighbour is a nuisance and has phoned the police in the past regarding my dog barking but he exagerates the situation alot, im looking for a quick fix really to prevent him barking for an hour or so until my neighbours gone to work, i have a electronic bark device that makes a piercing sound but didnt work, i was considering a spray collar but would want to waste nearly 80 if it wasnt going to work, has anyone tried a spray collar or does anyone have any better suggestions.Thanks In AdvancePhilOk thanks for the replys, il try the toys and get him several to keep him occupied, and il try shutting him in a room as suggested and see if i can get him to learn, thing is he doesnt bark permantely, its only when i intially go out, id guess he quietens down after about half an hour and he seems to be a relatively quick learner so il see how i get on.

So we are moving to a house and the neighbors dogs were barking a lot when we went into the backyard. I can only assume that when we move in my dogs will equally bark at their dogs.. and they will not quit.I was thinking of finding something to block that side of the fence off so my dogs can't get close enough to the fence that seperates the yards, but I can't think of how.I know there is bark collars, ultrasonic barking stoppers.. ha, and the shake can. None of which work for my dogs, because they would rather continue to bark then be annoyed by the sounds that it makes. Any suggestions?
Why does my dog bark ALL night?
I have two dogs. One is really " Mine" and he can be put in his kennel and left in the vicinity of my female dog and they don't bother each other any they're both terriers . The other night, the female dog began barking like crazy so we put her out thinking she had to go potty. We put her out and she refused to come back in for a while. When she did, she was quiet for a little while and then started the same stuff right back up. Loud barking like the end of the world is coming and she is there to warn us, or something. She's approximately 4.5 based on the vet's guesstimate . She has done this ever since, so for about 2 or 3 days in a row she begins this. We have a large house and its hard to run downstairs to put her out every few minutes and put her back in when she barks for that.What is wrong and how can we fix it?Mine meaning he is attached to me and me only, really. I can get him to mind. They're both mine but not in that sense.Usually, she NEVER barks. I've never really heard her bark until she began all of this.
Why is my dogs bark hoarse?
I have a 4 year old yorkie and when he barks its very hoarse. This started a couple of days ago his barking became hoarse then it got better but now its started again. And now he has another symptom he didnt have before which is this weird noise he makes when he breathes mostly when he his sleeping like he is congested or something. Other than that he is acting normal and very alert like always. Im taking him to the vet next week but i wanted to have an idea of what he has before i go.
Dog barking at everything?
I have a maltese shitzu and she barks all the time. She is always barking at people going by, other dogs, cars and general noises. We are about to move into town and I'm worried about neighbours complaining. We have tried yelling at her, a dog whistle, a whip not hitting her just cracking it in the air for a loud noise , every sort of loud noise to give her a fright, tried to bring her inside but you can't catch her when she is barking at something, spraying her with water scented and unscented and using the 'come' technique by associating the work with a treat she doesnt even acknowledge this word when barking . She is so good otherwise, she can sit, stay and do tricks but nothing works to get her to stop barking Please help?Oh she can certainly hear haha she knows when her dinner bowl is hitting the ground and even that won't bring her in when she is hell bent on barking at something And I want to add that I will NOT use cruel punishment like shock collars. I just want a few tips in case there is something else I haven't done. I would love to hire a trainer but I can't afford it unfortunately but thanks anways.I walk her twice a day as well so she sees plenty of the outside world. Her routine is brekki then a walk, play with toys on off all day with or without me and then dinner and another walk. Then she has a cuddle and heads to bed.
When my dogs barks he sounds like he is say the F word. What can i do about this?
He is a lab. We take him with us just about every where we go but when he barks it sounds so much like the F word. I dont know what to do. He barks at people sometimes not agressivly tho he just wants attention .The thing is, is that people look at us weird. And some people ask us if we taugh him that. We didnt tho.I kinda like how he can say the F word tho.. lol its awesome. So should i worry about it or just let him be? I seriously wish i had my camera with me cuz id take video and put it on youtube for you guys to see.
Why do people let their dogs bark incessantly?
I am hating dogs these days because ALL dogs bark, and it seems ALL owners let them do it for hours on end. If you are a dog owner how come YOU don't get bothered by your own dog barking? Well, the reason I ask is because a neighbor's dog is INSIDE and had been barking for 3 hours, now. THREE FRIGGIN' HOURS. And I see the guy is sitting right there. TK you might ask yourself that very question. At least I equivocated by saying " it seems" ...
Dog barks at other dogs, please help !?
It's only when we are walking by or they are walking by when they start to bark. I've tried giving a firm tug on the leash and saying " Stop" , but it doesn't even fase them. I really need help cause we are at a hotel and I can't have the dogs being noisy or we will get kicked out. . .I will not use treats, chock chains, shock collars, just the collar and leash I have.
