Pittbull or Australian Cattle Dog?
i would like to either get a Australian Cattle Dog or american pittbull terrier. The dog would mainly be inside with a medium sized fenced yard out back. Im a junior in college soo i share the house with 3 other people. and 2 husky mixes and a rednose pitt. But sadly none of these dogs are mine so i cant take them with me alot. I would like to either get 1 from a breeder or a rescue if the dog is under a year. The dog would be thoroughly socialized and trained. It would also 1 2 hours are hard exercises a day. Ive also grown up with akitas and bull mastiff soo i know how to handle big strong willed breeds. And i have nothing against labs and goldens i just like these breeds better. I would also not be getting the dog as a guard dog, he would just be my friend and hiking buddy. So with that being said i would like to get yours opinions about which breed is best. And real reasons would be more appreciated the just 1 word answers.thnks

Possibly getting a Australian Cattle dog puppy?
I'm possibly getting an Australian Cattle dog puppy soon. I'm moving to a new house with a 1.5 acre lot, so she'll have plenty of room to run & play. Is there anything specific I need to know about feeding or anything? I've been researching about 2 3 weeks, but there are different answers everywhere. So if you could tell me some helpful information, I'd really appreciate it.ALSO I have a min pin & a manchester terrier right now. The min pin is pretty calm & the manchester is really hyper and active so would that be a good play buddy for the puppy?Any other information is appreciated also Thank you & have a great day

Australian cattle dog in an apartment?
I just adopted an Australian Cattle dog from the animal shelter because she seems very sweet and passive. I live in an apartment and know that this breed really isn't suited to live in one, but because she seems so out of the 'norm' for her breed, I wanted to give it a try. You could sit and pet her all day, she even loves to be held like a baby. She's being spayed today and I haven't taken her home yet, but I would feel terrible if I had to bring her back to the shelter because it might not work out. I don't really know if she's a mixed breed or not, or if that even makes a difference. The complex I live at does have a dog run where she can be let loose and I plan on taking her there often.Has anyone ever lived with a cattle dog successfully in an apartment, or am I just welcoming trouble by taking her in?

Are Australian Cattle dogs born with docked tails?
I recently adopted my second ACD and her tail was docked... but she's only about 1yr old and the pound told me she was abandoned by her owner. Are they born with docked tails or did her previous owner dock her tail before abandoning her?

Is an Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler right for me?
My fiance and I are 21, we live in town but have a very large fenced in yard, no children. We want a dog we can bond with and the local shelter has a few of these pups 5 weeks old. It seems like a good match. Though we do have a stubborn cat. Could that present a poblem as well?He works about 20 hours a week and I work 40. There's usually only no one home between 730pm and 1 am. We both work 2nd shift. We are active when we want to be P I try to walk at least two miles a day. Or at least around my park yard a few times a day. Also I've own hearding dogs in the past Welsh Corgies and Bourder Collies and LOVED, I imagen the train is much like with these dogs? am I right

Australian cattle dog help?
Ok I'm looking to get another dog soon and I was thinking a lot towards an australian cattle dog. I just was wondering a few things about the breed. I have one other dog, about the same size, and was wondering if the cattle dog would get along well with other dogs. I take my other dog out often on walks and to play with other dogs. I also was wondering if the cattle dog jumps walls, I have a brick wall around my pretty big yard, I was just wondering if they jumped at all. I DO NOT want a dog who can easily escape my yard and getting out in the city. THX for all the info
