Can anyone produce proof that grapes are toxic to dogs?
ANY proof? Please produce links or literature, or ANYTHING proving that grapes make dogs sick. Why is it that dogs and grapes have lived in this world for centuries, but it's only been the last few years that people start freaking out about grape toxicity?Has anyone, ever had a dog drop dead after eating grapes?Anyone ever HEARD of a dog dropping dead after eating grapes?I can tell you where this non sense started. It was a slow news day in Napa Valley, California a few years ago and a reporter decided that 2 dead dogs on a vineyard were killed by eating grapes.A REPORTER Not a vet I worked at a vet clinic at the time and we all laughed at that report. Now it's ballooned into a urban legend that freaks everyone out.
I feel bad because I can't walk my dogs alot?
im a sophomore in high school so life is pretty packed right now since school just started. also where i live it gets pretty hot and i have 2 old english sheepdogs, they are both 100 pounds and 3 and a half years old. they rarely get walked and i feel horrible about it. probably once a month. i really want to walk them once a day at least but when i come home from sports practice and finish hwk, and shower its already time for me to go to sleep. and by the time its not scorchingly warm out side its already dark...and i cant go in the early mornings, cause i have to be getting ready for school. i am going to try to walk them each 3 times a week. seeing as there are 2 dogs that are very hyper when together, i take them out on their own separately so it does take me longer .what can i do? im only 15 and i feel so bad but theres not much i can do i try my best to take them out but my schedule or the weather always gets in the way, and to make things worse right now we're experiencing all of the summer's heat wave since we had a relatively cold summer, and both my dogs have thick coats naturally btw i cant get my parents to help walk them so please dont suggest that.oh btw i forgot to add, my parents are really protective and my dad doesnt want me going out in the early mornings w o an adult which is really dumb cause neither he nor my mom will wake up to come with me so i can only go in the evenings. also i dont get allowance am too young to have a job so i cant pay for a dog walker. and none of my friends live near me, that actually have experience with dogs pets in general.i cant stop sports, i only play one in the fall and spring, and without it i will not be able to get all required credits required to graduate. compared to all my peers, i have the least going on, i dont have any extra curicular activites outside of school, which is just sports... no dance class, no swim team, etc. so im already at the very minimum.okay we let our dogs out into the backyard when they need to go, they bark to tell us. im not that selfish that i would keep them outside in 100 degree weather all day. i love my dogs, i do not need someone trying to tell me i dont because i am struggling to find time. i would not be here today if it were not for my dogs, i am trying my best to do something and negative comments only make the situation worse because i struggle with anxiety and depression.
Do dogs have an indentation on thier skull?
I picked up my remote, and my chiwauwau was on my lap, when i picked up the remote, it knocked her in the head. She didn't yelp, or even jump down... but when i rubbed her head i felt a small indentation right between her ears.I didn't like punch her with the remote, it wasn't like a light bump either though... It was like i dropped it and one side hit her. Anyway, I felt the indentation and rubbed it. then she started freaking out, like scratching her head and whineing and stuff... now she's normal, but is she okay?btw, shes 3 years old D not a puppy
Wolf dogs???????????
why are wolf dogs shy of people? and why are they bad guard dogs? a wolf would attack a human then why are wolf dogs scared?
What type of dog is this?
Hi I've spent all day looking around for dogs because I had caught myself watching Animal Planet this morning, which pretty much made me puppy crazed. Today on the show I was watching I saw a really gorgeous dog that just caught my attention, but I can't find what breed it is. It sort of looks like a small sheperd, with a curly tail, fluffy blonde not white fur. I only found one picture of a dog that looked anything like it, but it didn't give me the breed. Below I put the picture, but I'm not sure whether or not you'll be able to see it, but hopefully you can help me out? It'd be appreciated. < a href " s1003.photobucket.com albums af155 SissaEllen ?action view& current 3136894058 8b9678bc01 m.jpg" target " blank" > < img src " i1003.photobucket.com albums af155 SissaEllen th 3136894058 8b9678bc01 m.jpg" border " 0" alt " Tucker " > < a> If I ever get one of these, I'm definately naming it Tucker or Ellis, if I have to get a girl..TRY THIS ONE?s1003.photobucket.com albums af155 SissaEllen ?action view& current 3136894058 8b9678bc01 m.jpg

Talking to/ "Reading" Dogs... how many of you can?
Yes, I know what you're thinking... Dogs can't talk, you're an idiot. I know they can't converse with us verbally, but they have other ways of communicating and expressing themselves. As a dog trainer I believe myself to have the ability to " read" what a dog is trying to say. For example Today while I was working at my part time job, a woman known for training service dog pups came in with one of her most recent black lab pups. She's a very cross and bitter sort of person, and I usually try to avoid her those of you who have ever worked in retail know what I mean . However, I was the only one available at the moment. I asked her if she needed help, and she refused to make eye contact as she grumbled a no. The pup, I noticed was doing what he was supposed to be doing, standing by her side patiently waiting for her next command. I took my leave to let her shop, but wasn't very far off. While standing at the counter I noticed how lifeless the puppy's eyes were. He looked sad and defeated, head hung and body sagging. I felt bad for this little guy, and finally our eyes met. It was if I was reading a book when I looked at the expression on his face. It was as if he was saying " She doesn't listen to me She just doesn't understand" . It broke my heart. My co worker came back from lunch and engaged her, asking how the dog was doing in his training. This was the confirmation I needed that told me I was 100 % right. She said " This dog is stupid and slow. He's not doing sh t. I can't wait to get rid of him." I was floored. I was then forced to watch her " work" the pup as she maneuvered the store, and all I could do is stand there and bite my tongue as I watched that brave puppy endure her harsh and angry commands as best his little self could manage.I don't consider myself a " dog whisperer" or anything, but I've worked with them long enough that I've become familiar with their facial expressions and body language enough to know what they're trying to tell me. I am a firm believer that if a puppy or dog aside from aggression rehabilitation or other behavior problems like this doesn't enjoy the training, you're doing something wrong. Do any of you have similar experiences you'd like to share? Do you know what I'm saying when I say I feel like I can " read" what a dog is saying? Do you feel that you have that same level of connection with your dogs?I'm just curious. Today's event is what spurred this question. There are soo many dog owners out there who don't know their own dogs, but I want to hear from those of you that do.
