ok so i have a 3 year old black lab his name is sammy. and when i left for school i seen his face and it was fine and it didnt seem like anything was wrong. then when i got home he was layin in a big chair when i walked in and i thought i seen something on his nose, when i went to get it off he started crying. it was a red spot that looks like a burn. hes acting normal but kinda not normal... if you know what i mean.i dont have enough money to take him to the animal hospital cause the make you pay more then a human hospital. so i was hoping. does anyone know what this might be? i have a pic of his nose if you want to see it.i404.photobucket.com albums pp121 pointlesspanic10319 08 09skoolyear123512815.jpgtheres a pic of his nose. its freakin me out i hope hes not sick yes i just noticed that i said burn not burnt in my question.
Cortisone ( dexamethasone) shots for dogs?
vet gave my 2yr old shih tzu a cortisone dexamethasone shot due to a reaction to sergents flea drops. How long will it be before he is back to normal. He has improved greatly but Im still worried

What should I do if I possibly get attacked by a dog?
Tonight I had a scare.I was outside taking my puppy to use the bathroom and as I was fixing to walk up my stairs to go back into my house this really big dog walked up right beside me. He was huge and I had never seen him before so I was frightened. I live in the country so a lot of people around here let there dogs run loose, but I know pretty much everyone's dog but I had never seen this one before. He was literally two feet from me and he had a low growl so all I thought to do was bolt up my stairs and he followed me, not running after me, but I could hear him behind me. So I got to my door and slammed it shut and he walked off. I don't think he would have hurt me because I'm sure he could've caught me if he really wanted to attack me, but I was still very very afraid. He was a huge dog. What should you do if you think a dog might try to attack you? I know I probably shouldn't have run, but my fight or flight instinct kicked in and obviously I chose to run. What should I do if this or any other dog might try to attack me? Also, when I ran my puppy was still outside and he tends to follow me so as soon as I ran upstairs he passed the big dog, but he didn't attack my puppy just scared him a little. I have a fear of dogs I don't know though, because when I was about 12 I did get attacked by a pit and had to go to the hospital, so that didn't and doesn't help me when I see a dog or dogs I don't know.When I was 12 and attacked all I was doing was walking up our road in front of my friends house. Nothing more.
How To Train a Abused Dog?
OK, so we just got this standard poodle. She was rescued a week ago from a home that abused her and barely fed her. She is barely 20 pounds and she is already 4 months old. It's really sad what she went through, but she's in good hands now. I am having trouble getting her to become comfortable with us. Usually she just sits in the middle of the floor straight up and doesn't move. She is very calm and not aggressive in the least. Every once in a while, she comes up to me and licks me, but when I try to pet her she runs away. Is there any way to speed this process up? Know of any trust building excersises for dogs. I feel really bad that she does this all day. Oh, also, she doesn't quite get the concept of going to the bathroom outside, any tips on that? She doesn't go in the house or anything, but I would like to know how to teach her to go outside.when I say she doesn't go in the house I mean accidents. She usually goes when we're all in bed and she's in her cage. It's on newspaper so everything is cleaned up, but it would be easier outside.

Would you put your pit bulls down because they injured another dog?
I love the breed except after my 2 attacked another one of my dogs I truly see the Power and Brutality these dogs can have. Mine are the most sweet baby loving dogs around, but after seeing this my total opinion has changed. I no longer encourage anyone to get pit bulls. Underlying hey CAN be Deadly. Would you put your's down if this happened to you or would you try to find homes for them? The one they attacked is ok only after I spent $3500 at the emergency vet
Dog Wiener... please help ?
I have a male Boxer who is 2 years old and he was neutered when he was 9 months. I also have 2 female dogs, when they go into heat they all 3 hump each other. Well, my male will mount the females and sometimes just hump without his wiener coming out of its pee hole area. Other times it actually does come out of it. I am going to explain even though he is neutered, when he humps and it does come out it fully comes out, the shaft and the ball area. My question is, if he is neutered why does it appear that he has his balls still? And, when they finish, he acts like it hurts him to have it out, and he'll lay down to lick it until it goes back inside him....
What is a good small inside dog?
