3 sick cats on a friday night! What can I do to help them until monday when i can make a vet appointment?
we just adopted a juvenile cat about a week ago. He had a cold but I didn't think much of it. our cats have had colds before and they were mild at best. The difference this time is that the other cats have gotten the cold and the older cat zowie 2 yrs is wheezing and has discharge and her eyes squint and she sneezes violently and so many times in a row it makes me dizzy just watching it The other two cats have minor sneezing and not discharge or breathing problems so my main concern is our oldest cat zowie. i feel like i should put some night Quill in a dropper and give it too her but what if it makes it worse or makes her throw up I want to help not hurt so if you know what i should do please help PS her ears seem a bit warmer than the other kitties.i'm not giving her any meds tonight. I gave her cat treats. and the vet is open tomorrow huray But pray for her to get better ok?

Five year old cat developed a peeing problem inside the house?
We rescued a cat from our local humane society about five years ago, Iris. She was not a super young kitten, but was under a year old so we do not know about all of her past. She was added to our family along with our two other cats.A year or so after we got Iris, our oldest cat passed away at the age of 19. Then it was the two cats Iris and Spot now 10 .Last August we took in a very young kitten, Gracie. She was quite the naughty kitten but she got along great with the dogs and other cats. Over the late winter early spring months she started peeing all over our living room carpet. There was no hope for the carpet and we had to rip it out. Gracie went to live on a farm owned by a friend of our's as a mouser. Now, Iris has started peeing in the house. The cats are strictly inside cats and where we live they are not able to be outside without the worry of them easily getting hit by a car.I would appreciate any and all advice Iris was declawed so I would worry about her becoming an outside cat Gracie had all of her claws .Thank you in advance.Iris does still use the litterbox so is not only peeing elsewhere.I have also had cats all my life, but this is the first time I have ever had problems with them peeing in the house. My mom has never had this problem either after having cats her entire life.

Anyone out there that's had a diabetic cat, can you recommend a good cat food?
I took my 10 yr old siamese mix into the vet recently for a rabies shot and checkup. The vet decided to do a senior blood panel on her just to make sure she's doing ok since she's getting a bit older. Everything looked fine except her blood sugar which was 302. They advised i follow up with them for a glucose curve and further testing. Well i went back to the vet today and they drew a 2nd random glucose and it was 235 after 8 hours fasting so the vet said that she may be at the very beginning stages of diabetes. My vet thinks we may be able to control her sugars with a simple diet change to a diabetic cat food. He sent me home with a bag of prescription Purina for diabetic cats but i haven't opened it yet becausee i absolutely hate Purina. They use corn gluten and several other fillers and by products i am not happy with. Can anyone recommend a better quality diabetic food? My vet says after 3 4 weeks on the new food we will come back in and do another random glucose and if its better we will manage her with food, if not we'll do a glucose curve and possibly start her on insulin. Any recommendations for a good diabetic cat food would be appreciated. thanks..She's currently eating Blue Buffalo but it's only about 30 % protien and the Purina DM they gave me today is 50 %. I looked at the Blue Buffalo WIlderness line but they only have 40 % protien so i don't think that will work. So any suggestions will be appreciated.

Small White worms in cat's food?
I have recently noticed small whit worms in my cats wet ouch food. It has been very hot and I have noticed fruit flys flying around his food. Could the worms be from the fruit flies? The type of food that my cat eats are wet food in a pouch. I open it and put it in a dish, he eats what he eats and saves the leftovers for later. So is it possible for these flies If he ate them Could hurt him?

Dropping a cat off at a shelter?
I am typically a dog person, I love my dogs they are like children in my house. I give them treats, love, walks, every second day I take them to the beach O my I totally adore them. My father in law stays with us and he has this horrible cat. Its the worst cat in history, it never comes to sit by you, never wants to be held by anybody and is the most unloving creature I have ever seen. It also makes a mess everywhere and I hate the hair it gets in everywhere its gross and disgusting and it makes my blood boil over the top and I'm the idiot that is saddled up to clean up after the thing my father in law doesn't lift a finger for it and I even have to feed it and give it water etc. So yes I am not a cat person and I am actually scared that one day I am going to do something to it so would it be so bad of me to just drop it off at a animal shelter?he would be pissed at me and would most likely press charges but its better than stopping to feed it or dump it off next to the road?He stays with us he is my husband's dad and he is a jackass that doesn't even have a pension fund, a house or flat or even a car I am not being a snot I'm the maid that has to clean up after his and his cats ass. Its a full time job and I also have a full time job Thank you very much so don't make comments or insinuations on people that you don't knowI live in South Africa we not as cruel as the states, animals in organizations like Save A Pet lives their whole life happily on a farm and the don't just put animals out they only put them out if they deadly sick

PLEASE HELP!!! I gave my cat benadryl and he vomited....?
He is almost 2 and has been vomiting clear mucus like liquid for a few days, so I called the vet and he said to give him about 1 or 2mls of Benadryl and if he is still doing it after the weekend, bring him in for an allergy shot. I just gave him the Benadryl and he projectile vomited everywhere I know it is very bitter tasting to cats and I tried a little, it is gross, but are there any suggestions in getting him to take it and keep it down? When he vomited it was his digested food and it looked like all of the contents of his stomach. I am taking him into the vet next week, but it is a holiday weekend so I could really use some helpful advice Thanks so much it was children's benadryl, not adult, and he's taken it before, but not thrown up everywhere, only helpful answers please And my old vet also instructed me to give another cat I had to leave at my Dad's house Benadryl, so it's perfectly okI had forgotten to add that he was sneezing, scratching, and hacking so he is not sick it really is allergies, he had it last year too

How to stop my parents from putting my cat down?
my cat has started behaving oddly by instead of sitting in its bed at night it sits outside on our wall and meows, my parents think it is dementia but i have done some research and think it may just be losing its hearing. The reason for this is that it does not react to sounds like it used to and it howls when it is silent which cats do if they are going deaf to see what their voice sounds like and if they can still hear.anyway my parents plan to have the cat put don as they think i am just not prepared to lose my cat, is there any way to persuade them not to put it down?
