I have been feeding the birds in my garden without fail every day and in a few weeks I will be moving house.?
One of the young Blackbirds from last year has been coming in the garden every day to feed and he also waits for me to during the frost get rid of the ice and fill the bird bath every day.I presume that he will be bringing his young to my garden as he was brought here last year with his family to feed as he has been seeing off all of the other Blackbirds. I know I may sound really sad to some people, but I feel like I am deserting them as I always say to people that if they start to feed the birds in their garden they must do it regularly.Do I just stop feeding them when I leave or cut down the food gradually. I have Goldfinches, Reed Buntings other types of finches and loads of others.I feed them wild bird seeds. several kinds niger seed for the Goldfinches, mealworms and raisins and apples . I don't put out bread or other foods.

How do I stop an unknown neighborhood cat from killing birds in my yard?
The cat comes around mostly at night. I can't catch it to put a bell around it nor do I know who the cat belongs to in the neighborhood to ask them to do it. Plus I read that birds don't think of the sound of a bell as a warning. I hate seeing the mourning doves and their eggs get killed each spring Is there a way to catch it or something? Help The nest is under the eves below the roof. I have put some cat repellent around the fence top and ground, but can't get to the roof.

My birds plucking feathers out?
i have 4 finches.1 of them, Bird, had been seperated for about 4 months now because he had an injured footBird got all better and so last week i put him back with the other 3 birdshowever, when i cheked again today, the feathers on the top of Bird's head had been plucked out by all the other birdsand i had noticed that before when i had just put Bird in the cage, two of the male birds kept on singing at him and flying on top of him like what male finches do to the female birds when they're mating and then at night, when all 4 finches were in their nest, all of a sudden there would be screeching and two birds, Bird and another would fly out of the nestwhy are Bird's feathers plucked out?why did the other birds do that?WILL THEY EVER GROW BACK ?do i have to take him to the vet?

Can my birds (zebra finches) understand that I had good intentions...?
Ok, so I have two finches, cinnamon and gage. Gage is male cinnamon is female. They are mates I guess but havent really matedAnyways, Gage got out of his cage and was in the bathroom, I had to catch him and when he landed I gently laid a towel over him and moved him to the other room which was next door the doors were open Idk why he didn't fly there himself, him and his mate were calling each other trying to find each other. Dont tell them I said this, but I dont think finches are that smart. Most birds are but I dont think that includes finches, maybe it does Idk Also do you think the towel technique was okay?I don't think it was but it was the only way I could catch him. When I opened the towel, he looked like he was dead he was on his side with his eyes closed, and I panicked but then he opened his eyes, looked at me, then he realized he was back in the cage and got up and flew away.Did I scar the poor thing for life, or do you think although hes not very smart that he knew I was trying to catch him and I released him back to his home. I hope he knows what I did cause I feel so bad, but I had to catch him and put him back.

What is a bird that will not eat bugs?
i might do a butterfly house in the summer with a plastic greenhouse we have, cut holes in it and put screen windows in it. I'm gonna plant lots of lovely flowering plants and I can't wait,, it's gonna be gorgeous I was thinking, wouldn't it be especially lovely if I could have a few birds in there with the butterfies? So is there a bird that is fairly inexpensive, likes warmth, and wil not eat bugs butterflies? The greenhouse is really big, 2meters tall, 1.5meters wide, 1.5meters long Thanks and the birds would be inside in the winter cold seasons TEN POINTS BEST ANSWER what about a budgie parakeet?I would prefer something interactive...

Last night I heard him at 3 00 am and now I'm hearing him and it is 8 00 pm and dark. I usually don't mind birds in the morning even if I'm sleeping in but when I'm actually trying to fall asleep it can be maddening.
