Terrapin (turtles) aquarium?
how often does a tank with 3 terrapins need cleaning ?is that a full wash of everything or just part of water ?thanks alot for ur help. one more thing are you supposed to remove part of water every couple days and replace with fresh ?

New saltwater aquarium please help!?
Im getting a free 20 gallon aquarium and since i have done very well with freshwater and have basically kept all fish including discus im ready to move on to saltwater. I think starting with a small tank would be a good test kit for me. Ive purchased a book which shows me lots of equipment but i would like to know what equipment is absolutely necessary to have a reef aquarium in a 20 gallon. I dont want equipment that i don't really have to buy because anemones and fish are very expensive. Any answer would be great.

I would like a South American bio type aquarium?
So I have a 75 gallon aquarium and I wanted a South American bio type aquarium. I was thinking along the lines of this 4 angelfish 1 male, 3 female , 2 bolivian rams, 12 bleeding heart tetras, 8 otos, 2 blue rams, and blank. What else should I add here? I was thinking dwarf gouramis but they aren't South American. Any easy fish to care for that come from this region? My second question are what plants are from this region. I have 2 amazon sword, 4 cabomba, and some micro sword as ground cover. these are thoughts, not put into action yet What other plants are there. I have one large bog root, 2 pieces of driftwood one 12 inches, other 5 and a rock. all of which I have Any other things that I could add? Remember, I want it to look natural?Thanks you for your time.

What is the best way to add floating cover to an aquarium with an overflow?
I currently have a 72 gallon bow front Jack Dempsey tank. My Jack Dempsies are too scared to go near the surface of the water even at feeding time. They would barely even come out of their caves until I added a bunch of driftwood to give them more cover. I know many people use floating plants, but I have an overflow setup and don't want the plants clogging it up. I'm looking for a way to add some sort of cover so they don't have to be so scared of surface attacks. Also I would like the cover to look natural.

Can you use aquarium salt to heal wounds or fungus on fishes?
i have a big question,,,, if a fish has some scales that came off, will malachite green burn the open scale parts?, will the " aquarium salt treatment" burn those scaleless parts?, how about melafix.i know i cant do it with catfishes because they have NO scales, so can i use the same dosis for a fish that has only lost a FEW scales? but has scales?
