What do I do with marine aquarium water?
I'm starting a marine aquarium fish only and I heard that you must go get reverse osmosis water for your tank. I'm wondering if it would be possible to put tap water in my tank and then the dechlorinater and then the salt and mix it all and then let it run for 2 or 3 weeks before I put live rock or fish in. Is this possible because it makes sense and less effort.
2 aquarium questions?
1 im getting a free 50 gallon tank BOOYAH and was wondering what would be a good combination of Bala sharks, clown loaches, and corydoras catfish would be. those are my favorite fish2 unrelated to my prior question..if my dragonfish violet goby ate a house fly would that be bad for him? one landed in his tank and i got it out right before he snapped it up.150 gallons for clown loaches? that is a bit excessive

Goldfish and aquarium plants??? help needed?!?
I have one goldfish in a 27 gallon tank. In the past I've had live plants but they were all eaten before they could grow. I'm thinking about getting a cheap 5 gallon tank or even just a bucket with a light to use as a nursery for the plants so that I can alternate them between the two tanks and give them a chance to grow. Btw, I'm going to use canadian pondweed also called elodea or anacharis Also, my goldfish is a fancy goldfish and I would like to get a common goldfish. I don't think competition would be much of a problem because he takes food from our hands. Are there any other problems associated? What do you think, and any suggestions?

Can betta fish fungus be cured and prevented with aquarium salt?
I've had my male betta fish for about a month and he has the first stages of a fungus I believe. Some white fluffy things have developed on the bottom of his tail, but it has not gotten bad yet. I'm not even sure if this is what it is? I just bought aquarium salt, and I don't want to use any medication yet if this is not what he has. I went on vacation for a week and the person that offered to clean his tank never did, so this may be the cause.Thank you all for your answers.First of all....I live in Arizona and I barely turn on my AC so the temperatures are perfect for a tropical fish.Secondly, I was told by many fish owners and breeders that using aquarium salt for betta fish is OK and actually good for the fish in SMALL quantities obviously. They enjoy a small amount of salt.Third, I wasn't going to use medication until I absolutely knew the issue was fugus.

How can I get my aquarium plants to grow?
My goldfish keeps eating them, so I put them in a bucket in the sun to grow a bit and recover. I'm worried that they won't get enough nutrients from tap water, so would it be better to add a bit of water with fish poop in it after cleaning the tank?

Aquarium lights question i needa know pls answer me ty!?
i recently bought a 17 inch by 11 inch by 11 inch tank. it is 8.9 gallon and now i was looking at my tank and then i thought why is my aquarium so dark and then i am now think of buying a aquarium light. i wanna buy a kind of light which sticks on the top of the tank i mean like just on top like something a an attacher to stick the light to the sides of the tank. but i wanna get a light which can fit my 17 inch tank and which does not occupy the space behind the tank and uses really less electricity cos my tank just need lighting cos i have no plants in my tank except for plastic ones so all i need is a little bit of lighting and here are my questions.i hope you guys know the answer to it.1.how does a aquarium light work on top of the tank i mean how does to like stay still on top?and not fall into the water?2.is there such thing as lights which uses less energy because my tank is not a planted one and i just need a little bit of light.3.will there be such a light which is 17 inch long?the reason why i dont wanna a lamp is because my tank is place on the table and behind it there is no space for the lamp to stand . Hey is there such lamp as a lamp which hooks onto one side of the tank because i seen one before which is attached to the tank by something like a clipper. ok the truth is,i wanna a clip lamp which is like 10 watts or 7 watts and it should just be able to light up the middle of the tank and thats ok alr i dont really need a long lighting material or whatsoever.4.how to operate a mini aquarium lamp do i just plug in the plug and switch on or do i need light bulbs and etc for the mini aquarium lamp to work? ty for answering me
